Instant grassification not an option…

I attended the meeting on Monday night. Here is what the Wairarapa Times Age had to say about the meeting.

I’ve come to the conclusion that we, the residents of Featherston need to take action for ourselves. Lets set up some picnic tables and planter pots on the Zen Garden so we can use the space till the construction begins.

Let’s all meet for a picnic.

Once it stops raining!

WTA: Action called over Featherston ‘pit’

Today an article appeared on line from the Wairarapa Times Age regarding the “Featherston pit” Otherwise known as the Zen Garden.

I have already posted a photograph of their poster that is around town. Here is a flyer I picked up from somewhere. See you there.

Featherston Residents Meeting

Public meeting poster

I came across many of these posters in town early this afternoon. I’ve called the number, and once the group gets back to me I can add more information. But it’s an excellent move. I’m looking forward to it.

Special Public Meeting on Monday 21 September 7:30 pm at the Kiwi Hall.

The Mayor, Councillors and others will be at the meeting to answer questions.

See you there.

Zen it up

I hear the land between the Trusthouse fence and the space that one day will be the Town Square is now available for sale. Here I was thinking the Council was asking for expressions of interest.

I have an expression of interest. Actually hubby came home and made this suggestion.

Most of town already call it the Zen Garden, so just lets just make it into a Zen Garden. Low hedging, seats, gravel, rakes and big rocks placed in meaningful ratios. (I love the big rock idea, I love big rocks and I cannot lie).

It would become a place to have lunch in the sun, and if its done right out of the wind. Oh and build in a Petanque court. Oh and a giant chess set. Oh and a children’s bicycle track around the outside complete with lights and crossings.

Can the Council do that? Can an individual with money do that? Perhaps, and I’m being really cheeky here, the Avatar park of contemplation?

Just an idea.
